BEL High School Weekly Recap – Week 4

In the fourth week of the Block House Esports League (BEL) Smash Ultimate competition, the stakes were higher than ever as teams battled fiercely for supremacy. Here’s a detailed look at the clashes that took place:

De La Salle vs Fulton White

De La Salle continued their unblemished record, securing a 2-0 victory against Fulton White. Gabe and Emery showcased exceptional skill, sweeping 9 stocks each. Fulton White’s Elijah, although putting up a fight in a Game & Watch ditto, couldn’t change the outcome. De La Salle remains undefeated, setting the stage for a challenging match against Morey Yellow and Merrill in the upcoming weeks, while Fulton White faces off against Mt Pleasant Violet.

Sacred Heart White vs Mt Pleasant Orange

In a battle of undefeated teams in Group C, Mt Pleasant Orange emerged victorious with a decisive 2-0 win. Spencer’s stellar Wolf performances were instrumental in their victory. Although Sacred Heart White put up a valiant effort, they couldn’t match Orange’s coordinated gameplay. Sacred Heart White now faces Fulton Red in a crucial battle for the second-place spot, while Mt Pleasant Orange prepares for a challenge against Morey White to maintain their perfect record.

Mt Pleasant Blue vs Fulton Red

In a closely contested match, Mt Pleasant Blue emerged triumphant against Fulton Red with a 2-1 victory. Despite Logan’s outstanding performance for Fulton Red, taking 13 stocks over three games, Mt Pleasant Blue’s team effort prevailed. Hannah’s excellent Chrom pick played a pivotal role in their win. Mt Pleasant Blue faces Hemlock next week, while Fulton Red gears up for a challenging match against Sacred Heart White.

Mt Pleasant Gold vs Mt Pleasant Violet

In a showdown between sister teams, Mt Pleasant Gold dominated with a 2-0 victory against Mt Pleasant Violet. Kenley’s Shulk and Connor’s Joker wreaked havoc, securing a convincing win for Gold. Although Violet’s Kayden and Collyn fought hard, Gold’s synergy and strategy were unmatched. Violet faces a must-win situation against Fulton White next week, while Gold goes up against Merrill.

Mt Pleasant Green vs Fulton Blue

Undefeated Mt Pleasant Green showcased their dominance with a clean sweep against Fulton Blue. Zach’s flawless Ness sweep in Game 1 set the tone, followed by Daniel’s impressive Greninja performance in Game 2. Despite the sweeps, Fulton Blue displayed potential, posing a threat to other teams in the playoffs. Green faces Sacred Heart Red next week, while Blue takes on a formidable Shepherd team.

Morey White vs Hemlock

In a battle of two winless teams, Hemlock emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Morey White. Kassie’s Kirby and Ana’s Zero Suit Samus delivered standout performances, taking 12 and 9 stocks respectively. Despite Mark’s Toon Link holding firm for Morey White, Hemlock’s aggressive gameplay secured the win. Hemlock faces a challenging match against Mt Pleasant Blue next week, while Morey White aims for improvement against Mt Pleasant Orange.

Merrill vs Morey Yellow

In a closely fought battle, Morey Yellow secured a 2-1 victory against Merrill. Sky’s impressive comeback in Game 1 and Richard’s clutch win on Ridley in Game 2 weren’t enough to overcome Morey Yellow’s Alex, who shone with a Ness pick, sealing the series. Morey Yellow faces a tough challenge against De La Salle next week, with Merrill playing both DLS and Mt Pleasant Gold.

Morey Purple vs Shepherd

Shepherd emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against Morey Purple. Nick’s Pyra/Mythra and Liam’s Little Mac combo in Game 1, followed by Noah’s Piranha Plant sweep in Game 2, proved too much for Morey Purple to handle. Morey Purple seeks stability as they prepare for a match against the group leader Mt Pleasant Pink, while Shepherd aims for a win against Fulton Blue.

Mt Pleasant Pink vs Sacred Heart Red

In a must-win situation, Sacred Heart Red delivered a remarkable 2-0 victory against Mt Pleasant Pink. With Pink missing their anchor, Luna, Sacred Heart’s Isaiah’s King K Rool and Samuel’s Pikachu dominated Game 1, while Micah’s solo performance on Donkey Kong sealed Game 2. Pink aims to bounce back with Luna’s return against Morey Purple, while Sacred Heart faces a daunting challenge against the group leader, Mt Pleasant Green.
